Masonic Bio

I want to notify you I would still like to continue serving the CMMRF Board of Trustees, if I am elected to the Board. I was first introduced to our charity in 1991 when I was appointed to the Grand Council line in Florida by Most Illustrious Frank Cochran. Since that time I have been supporting the CMMRF on a local, state, and national level. My local Council Tyrian No. 36 donations speak to this. I personally contact my fellow council members and encourage donations to the CMMRF and to promote the CMMRF programs. The donations from Tyrian Council No. 36 ($7,340/2019) are greater than most Grand Councils donations are in a given year and I attribute this to my work on a local level. I was state chairman for the Grand Council of Florida from 1997-2002 and then again from 2005-2015. During this time I visited Councils around the state, made dinners and had educational programs about the research to encourage attendee’s donations to the Charity. I have served on the state committee as a member since 2015. Florida’s record speaks for itself. On the National level I was first elected to the CMMRF Board of Trustees in 2005 at Rapid City South Dakota Triennial Sessions. I served the next nine years on the Board of Trustees until 2014 when I could not attend the Buffalo, NY Triennial due to my work obligations. During this period I helped develop the Wills and Gifts program that we are currently using. I have spoken multiple times at the Southeast Conference on how to promote CMMRF. I was reelected to Board at the 2017 Portland, Oregon Triennial which I did attend. I believe we have come a long way with the research being performed at Indiana University. I believe we need to have an educational program to promote the ins and outs of our Foundation. I also believe we need to develop a program to go after corporate foundations with an employee individual matching and corporation base.

It is an honor and my pleasure to serve with a charity that benefits so many. My health has personally benefited from the work done by this organization.

It is my wish that you find it your heart to support my reelection to the Board. My Companions, thank you for your considerations.

Fraternally,

Paul W. Friend,
MIPGM 1996
